Apple on Friday launched its app for its dedicated Apple Store in India, deepening its retail presence in the world’s most populous country, as the iPhone-maker aims to cash in on rising consumer demand.
Available on download on India’s App Store, the app allows customers to directly buy Apple products while getting personalized shopping recommendations, the company said in a statement.
Via the app, customers can also configure their Mac to include more powerful chips, additional memory or storage — features Indian customers have sought for years — and schedule home delivery or pickup of their purchases

“The Apple Store app experience is a continuation of our commitment at Apple to put our customer at the centre of everything we do, and we are excited to be able to give access to even more customers in India and strengthen our connections further,” Karen Rasmussen, Apple’s head of retail online, said in a statement.
The app has tabs for products, tailored recommendations, plus post-purchase support including online setup sessions with Apple experts. Customers also can subscribe to complimentary exercise classes at in-person
Apple Stores and find out about Apple trade-in and financing options as well as add free engravings to devices like AirPods and iPads in eight languages.
India, the world’s second biggest smartphone market, is gradually becoming an important geography for Apple as it aims to build its manufacturing bases beyond China. Apple started to assemble iPhones in India in 2017 and has gradually ramped up production with partners like Foxconn and the Indian conglomerate Tata.
